Core-stand
The core-stand is a device designed by Rodrick Owen to facilitate making Andean core-braids or any braid with a core. Dave and Rodrick are still fine tuning it; Rodrick's book on the subject will be published in the summer 2012; watch this space for core-stand availability.

The overhead harness allows the braider to place those tama that are in the core of the braid out of the way while the braid is being made. When a color needs to be placed in the core, it is moved from the harness to the stand and the bobbin on the stand is moved to the harness.

If you already own a 10"/25cm BraidersHand marudai, it will fit into the base, a 12"/30cm BraidersHand marudai will fit on top of the base. If your marudai is by another maker it should fit in a similar manner. The core-stand works with both short and tall marudai.

Price is yet to be determined; we think $285.00 to $325.00. (Marudai and tama not included.)

Orders must be placed prior to May 2012 for those braiders who want a core-stand for Rodrick Owen's workshop at Braids 2012. Watch for more details in January.
