| Our clasp sets are high quality plated metal; the flat crimps are made in the USA. The round shiny gold and silver cylindrical end caps and key rings are from Japan, both can be glued onto a round braid while the flat crimp ends have gripper teeth that hold the crimp in place. Instructions for using the flat clasps here.
If you choose to use the flat clasps with a round braid, press on the braid to spread it out as that is the size it will be once it is inserted into the crimp end of the clasp  The photos show the clasps once they are put together, we now sell them in parts, you get two crimps or end caps, two jump rings and a ball and socket clasp. |  The teeth on the embossed clasps. It is easy to put the pieces together, use two pair of pliers that are for jewelry work or that have tape around their jaws so that they won't mar the jump ring. Hold the jump ring with the pliers on either side of the opening. Push one side away from you and the other side towards you. The ends are no longer lined up. Add half the clasp and the crmip end or cylinder end. To close the jump ring reverse the process so that the ends line up again.
