| Scarves - Janis Saunders
These images are true to life size. They are from two scarves I made using 9-pin koma on the outside arms of my takadai. I had 72 tama for both scarves, one is almost twice as wide as the other due to the size and number of threads on each tama.
The silver scarf is 8 inches wide by 89 inches long. This pattern is Anda-gumi No. 2, page 19 of Comprehensive Treatise on Braids III: Taka-dai braids 1 by Makiko Tada. This is the second color set-up, alternating tama carried either 8 ends of rayon/silk or 8 ends of rayon knitting ribbon. The warp was around 4 yards. They all filled the tama to just about overflowing but with careful managment there was very little trouble.
The green scarf is 4.25 inches wide by 59 inches long. This pattern is Anda-gumi No. 2, page 19 of Comprehensive Treatise on Braids III: Taka-dai braids 1 by Makiko Tada. This is the first color set-up, alternating tama carried either 2 ends of rayon novelty yarn or 1end of rayon knitting ribbon.
